Premier global nutrition provider ADM has shown interest in Sojaprotein

Bečej, 26 July 2021 – ADM, a premier global nutrition provider and agribusiness, has shown interest in Sojaprotein, one of the most important non-GMO soybean processing plants in Europe. The purchase agreement was signed on today with the Parent Victoria Group under whose auspices Sojaprotein operates, and the completion of the transaction is expected after obtaining the approval of regulatory bodies.

Victoria Group has been one of Serbia’s biggest exporters for years and in 2018, it reconfirmed its position among the companies contributing the most to our country’s external trade balance.

The Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Serbia published a list of last year’s 15 biggest exporters according to the data from the Customs Administration. As the only company in the agriculture industry, Victoria Group ranks 15th in terms of export figures, coming in at €130 million.

MK Group has started the process of taking over the bank loan receivables towards Victoria Group member companies. MK Group signed a contract on taking over the Victoria Group member companies’ debts with the Victoria Group creditors and this process is expected to be completed as soon as possible.

As part of the 85th International Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad, Victoria Logistic and Veterinary Institute Subotica, Victoria Group member companies, organized a traditional “Partners` Day”. This event, which took place on May 17, gathered around 500 business partners. Management representatives from both companies discussed the results of the previous cooperation and plans for the second half of the current year with their guests.

The “Serbia Grains” association, in cooperation with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (UN FAO) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), organized “Seed Day” on May 16, as part of the 85th International Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad. At this traditional event, awards were presented to the companies that have achieved the best results in the trade of grains and oilseeds.

The Management Center Belgrade (MCB) organized the HRM Congress on human resources management on February 23 in Belgrade.

The Supervisory Board of Victoria Group has appointed Stefan Babović as the new Chief Operations Officer of the company.

As Chief Operations Officer, he will be responsible for business strategy and development plans, all operations and financial performance. He will also manage corporate operations as the company representative in communication with the government, state institutions and other key company stakeholders.

Victoria Group took part in the “Originalni razgovori” (“Original Conversations”) project organized by Original Magazine and the Novak Djoković Foundation. The goal of the project was to give young people who do not have extensive work experience a chance to speak to HR experts from big Serbian companies, and to provide them with an opportunity to improve their communication skills, boost their CV and overcome stage fright when presenting their skills to a potential employer through job interview simulations.

The 7th  Agricultural Forum “Food for Europe” organized by the Economics Institute and the Serbian Association of Agricultural Economists was held in Vrdnik, November 16-18, gathering scientific and practical experts. Representatives from the government, Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SANU), Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia (PKS), agricultural and food companies and cooperatives took part in the Forum discussing the subject of “smart agriculture”.
