Research carried out by the Business Info Group on the largest and most profitable companies in Serbia between 2008 and 2015 focused particularly on export and company performance by sector. The processing industry is the second most common sector after the commercial sector, and it generates nearly a quarter of the total business income within the group of 100 best ranked companies.
A certified validation of compliance with the FSSC (Food Safety System Certification) 22000 standard was given at Sojaprotein in November by the SGS certification company. By obtaining a positive report, compliance with the highest requirements of the food safety management system was proven.
In November, the plant for the production of ointment for general use was set up in the Veterinary Institute Subotica. The plant covers an area of around 200m2 and it was built in accordance with all the requirements of the domestic legal regulations and standards regarding the production of objects for general use.
At the meeting of the Group of vegetable oil manufacturers within the framework of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia held in November, Srđan Popov, Victoriaoil Operations Director, was elected as Group chairman. An international workgroup was held in Skopje on November 8 and 9 as part of the Support to the Establishment and Advancement of Pollutant Release and Transfer Register (PRTR) in Western Balkan Countries and the Republic of Moldova project, implemented by the Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe, and supported by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety. The Register is a European record of industrial plants from the standpoint of environmental protection.
The international conference SEE ENERGY - Connect&Supply 2016 organized by SERBIO, the National Agency for Biomass, was held on November 15 and 16 in Novi Sad, with the goal of promoting the use of biomass for thermal energy production and the networking of all actors involved in the renewable energy sources (RES) sector.

The introduction of standards and the vertical integration of agriculture is imperative in the process of domestic agricultural development and its positioning on the market of the European Union – this was one of the conclusions on the first day of the “Food for Europe” (“Hrana za Evropu”) forum.
The Veterinary Institute Subotica commissioned a state-of-the-art robotic palletizing system within the animal feed production plant. A robotic palletizing system is a set of devices used for sorting bags onto a pallet and preparing a loaded pallet for transportation. The goal of this investment was to speed up the sorting and stretching process and to reduce and relieve the workforce in the actual process of sorting and preparing the pallets. In comparison with the previous system of manual sorting, the process itself has become almost twice as fast.
