Companies with the best achievements in the export of agricultural products were awarded by the association “Žita Srbije” (“Association Serbia Grains”) in the framework of “Seed Day”, organized within the International Agricultural Fair in Novi Sad on May 17. Victoria Group was awarded for its successes in the export of soy and sunflower meal. The award was handed to Mladen Jovanović, General Manager at Victoria Logistic, a Victoria Group member company.
Victoria Group is among the 15 largest exporters from Serbia in the first quarter of this year. According to the data from the Customs Administration and from the list of the largest exporters issued by the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Serbia, Victoria Group has achieved EUR 36.8 million of sales in the foreign market. This placed the company on the 14th position for the quarter January-March, 2017.
Last year, Victoriaoil entered the Chinese market, and this year the breakthrough is continued with the Iskon sunflower oil. Within the first quarter, 100,000 liters were exported to the canton of Shanghai. The company is expecting to sign contracts for larger quantities which would then be available on this market in the course of 2017. Chinese consumers can buy Iskon oil at the retail chain Young, and it is used by several hospitality businesses as well.
Two events, the 5th International Conference of Sustainable Postharvest and Food Technologies (INOPTEP 2017) and the 29th National Conference of Processing and Energy in Agriculture (PTEP 2017) were held simultaneously in Vršac, from April 23 to April 28.
After the “Battle for the Babies” (“Bitka za bebe”), Fund B92 is organizing a national educational program “Battle for Knowledge” (“Bitka za znanje”) aimed at primary school children. Victoria Group supported this program as well and gave its contribution by donating teaching tools for KODigranje (Code-Play), the first project within the “Battle for Knowledge”.
On April 26, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia and the British-Serbian Chamber of Commerce organized a conference entitled “Business With the United Kingdom – Brexit as a New Opportunity”. The potentials of this market and the opportunities for the improvement of commercial cooperation were presented at the conference, along with the regulations and export procedures for the British market.
The product portfolio of the Veterinary Institute Subotica, a Victoria Group member company, has been enriched by two new disinfectants. Namely, Muzol – a preparation for the disinfection of cows’ udders and papillae after milking, as well as Povidone-iodine – a solution for the preoperative disinfection of surgeons’ hands, will soon be on the market.
The constitutive session of the Grains, Industrial Crops and Fodder Group at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia was held in Belgrade, on April 11. Goran Radić, Director of the “Stari Tamiš” Company, was elected the group chairman and Olga Čurović, Director of “Industrijsko bilje” Business Association, was elected deputy chairwoman. The company Victoria Logistic is represented by Natalija Kurjak, Marketing Director.
The traditional quality assessment of products categorized into several commodity groups was organized ahead of the 84th International Agricultural Fair which will be held in Novi Sad from May 13 to 19. ISKON edible sunflower oil produced by Victoriaoil, a Victoria Group member company, has been awarded several times already at the Novi Sad Fair for its exceptional quality. This year ISKON was awarded a gold medal which was received by Vladimir Šarac, Quality Control and New Products Development Director at Victoriaoil.
As part of the “PRO PR 2017” regional conference dedicated to public relations, prestigious “PRO PR Awards” were presented on April 8 to individuals who have contributed to the development of the PR profession over the course of their careers, both in their own county and in the region. The candidates are nominated by an international jury composed of individuals working in all areas of public relations, and a special committee chooses the winners by analyzing media announcements and the candidates’ professional results.
