Victoria Oil company (joint-stock company), from Šid was founded in 1978. In 2005, plant for processing of oil crops, Victoria Oil a.d., becoms a part of the business system Victoria Group, which owns 100% of share capital. The company currently employs 230 people.
Factory for processing oil crops is strategically well positioned, so that receiving of oil crops and grains, as well as dispatching of produce, is possible by road traffic and by industrial track, which is connected to the main railway line.
The main activity of the company is the production of raw and refined oils, protein meal and bio diesel. The company has significant capacities for processing sunflower (over 1.200 t per day), rapeseed (about 800 t per day) and soybean (over 750 t per day). Capacity of the flexible plant for the refinery and bio diesel is 300 tons per day of refined oils or bio diesel. There is also a bottling plant for edible oil located in factory complex with the capacity of 14,000 litres per hour, there is also a universal silo with four dryers with the capacity of 40,000 tons of sunflower, 60.000 tons of soybeans or 80,000 tons of wheat, storage with capacity of 1.000 t of protein meal, as well as a floor storage for sunflower shell with the volume of 20,000 m³.
In 2005 began a significant investment cycle in the company, after it became part of Victoria Group business system. In 2005 and 2006, reconstruction of existing plants were completed. For the refinery and the bio diesel plant in 2007. New bio diesel plant was constructed using the German Lurgi technology. The processing technology at the factory allows, depending on market conditions, alternative production of refined oils or bio diesel. With these investments, the company became the only company in Serbia that has equipment for processing sunflower, soybean, rapeseed and the production of bio diesel. In mid-August 2009, the most modern plant for filling and packaging of edible oils in the region, trademark ”Iskon”, was activated. By the end of 2009 this plant has produced a total of 14.3 million litres of oil. Towards the end of 2009, Victoria Oil witnessed a reconstruction of the factory, with the aim of increasing rapeseed processing capacity. Capacity of sunflower processing was increased from 600 to 1,200 tons per day, and for rapeseed and soy from 450 to 750 tons per day.
The company insists on complying with the most strict quality standards, as confirmed by the International Certification Company SGS (quality management system ISO 9001:2008 and HACCP). Implementation of ISO 14001 system standard for management in environmental protection is currently underway, as well as ISO 18001 system standards for management in health protection and safety at work. In 2009 Kosher and Halal certificates were obtained.
